New Executive Team Drives SmilePass Forward
The board of SmilePass recently initiated a strategic review of the business to determine the best way forward in this exciting market. To date, the company has pioneered the development of one of the first biometric authentication as a service solutions. Two experienced software as a service, blockchain and biometrics executives were identified to conduct this review – Grant Crow and Carl Weir.
Grant Crow is an entrepreneur with a number of start-ups and successful exits behind him. Most recently he was a key member of the team advising Experian’s software business on how best to transform to software as a service. Carl is one of the relatively few executives globally with real blockchain experience and until recently, was CEO of CrossVerify.
Post a detailed market review, Grant and Carl proposed an expanded product concept to the board. This concept builds on the existing solution and is designed to enable the creation of trusted communities in a variety of verticals. This solution is now in development. Additionally, the board have decided to appoint Grant as CEO of SmilePass. Carl has been offered a great opportunity to join a new blockchain oriented initiative as CSO. The initiative is backed by two of the largest technology companies globally.
Khalil Dimachkie also joins SmilePass as CTO. Khalil is a mobile and emerging tech specialist with over 15 years of software development. He has worked with global brands such as BP, VISA, Maserati and TfL and is a regular contributor to blogs as well as a public speaker on technology. Most recently, he addressed the London assembly on the impact of the Internet of Things on London.
According to Grant ..”I selected Khalil as he has a rare ability to combine technical expertise with an outward facing customer orientation. Our customers want to engage around business challenges and opportunities and the ability to simplify technology and link it to these challenges is critical”.
